Question 1

What should I do if my computer won't turn on?

Accepted Answer

If your computer won't turn on, first check if it's properly plugged in and the outlet is working. Try a different power cable if you have one. For laptops, make sure the battery isn't completely dead by leaving it plugged in for 15-20 minutes. If it still won't turn on, it could be a power supply issue, motherboard problem, or hardware failure. Bring it to our Nashville shop for a free $25 diagnostic - we can usually identify the issue same day.

Question 2

Why is my laptop running so slow?

Accepted Answer

A slow laptop is usually caused by too many startup programs, not enough RAM, a full hard drive, or malware. As Nashville computer technicians, we see this daily. Sometimes it's as simple as clearing temporary files and removing unwanted programs. Other times you might need a RAM upgrade or switching to an SSD. We can diagnose the exact cause and recommend the most cost-effective solution - often getting your laptop running like new again.

Question 3

Can a virus steal my bank information?

Accepted Answer

Yes, certain types of malware and viruses can steal sensitive information including banking details, passwords, and credit card numbers. If you're seeing unusual popups, your computer is acting strange, or you suspect a virus, disconnect from the internet and bring it to us immediately. We specialize in virus and malware removal in Nashville, and we ensure complete removal with security software to protect you going forward. Don't risk your financial information - we can help same day.

Question 4

My laptop screen is cracked - can you fix it?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we replace laptop screens for all major brands including MacBooks, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Asus. Screen replacement usually takes 1-2 hours for most models. We keep many common screens in stock at our Nashville location for same-day service. Bring your laptop in for a free quote - screen replacement is often more affordable than you'd think and much cheaper than buying a new laptop.

Question 5

How long does computer repair take in Nashville?

Accepted Answer

Most repairs are completed the same day or within 24 hours. Simple issues like virus removal or software installation can often be done while you wait (30 minutes to 2 hours). Hardware repairs like screen replacement typically take 1-3 hours. More complex repairs like motherboard issues might take 1-2 days. We always give you an honest time estimate upfront and keep you updated throughout the process.

Question 6

How much does computer repair cost?

Accepted Answer

We charge a $25 diagnostic fee to identify the problem. Once we diagnose the issue, we'll give you an exact quote before doing any work - no surprises. Simple software fixes might be $50-100. Screen replacements typically range from $100-300 depending on the model. Hard drive replacements or upgrades start around $100. Complex motherboard repairs vary by device. Remember: we have a no-fix, no-fee policy - if we can't fix it, you only pay the $25 diagnostic.

Question 7

Do you offer a warranty on repairs?

Accepted Answer

Yes, all our repairs come with a 1-year warranty on parts and labor. If the same issue happens again within a year, we'll fix it free. This shows we stand behind our work. We've been serving Nashville for years and our warranty gives you peace of mind that your repair is done right the first time.

Question 8

What is your no-fix, no-fee policy?

Accepted Answer

We're confident in our abilities as Nashville's trusted repair experts, and this policy proves it. If your device is beyond economical repair, we'll tell you honestly and suggest alternatives like trade-in or replacement options.

Question 16

Is it worth fixing a 5-year-old laptop?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the issue and the laptop. As Nashville computer technicians, here's our honest advice: If the repair costs less than 50% of a replacement laptop's price and it's a mid to high-end model, repair usually makes sense. A simple RAM upgrade or SSD installation can make an older laptop feel brand new for under $150. However, if the motherboard is failing on a low-end 5-year-old laptop, replacement might be smarter. Bring it in - we'll give you an honest assessment of whether repair is worth it.

Question 17

Should I repair or replace my broken device?

Accepted Answer

Great question - we get asked this daily in our Nashville shop. Here's our honest framework: Repair if: the cost is under 50% of replacement, it's a high-quality device, the issue is isolated (like a screen or battery), or you have important data on it. Replace if: it's low-end and old, multiple things are failing, repair costs approach replacement price, or it's obsolete. We'll always give you honest advice, even if it means recommending replacement. We also offer trade-in options for devices beyond economical repair.

Question 18

Do you buy broken devices or offer trade-ins?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We buy laptops, computers, phones, tablets, and gaming consoles in any condition - working or broken. We offer fair prices and instant cash payment. It's an eco-friendly way to dispose of old electronics while getting money back. Even if your device isn't worth repairing, it might have value for parts or recycling. We also securely wipe all data to protect your privacy. Visit our Trade-In page or call (615) 891-2082 for a quote on your device.
